Only You EP1 – School Uniforms, Awkward Action Setup

Updated: Aug 9

Is it love at first fight... or are we still warming up?

The Only You series made its grand debut today on the 3Plus App (yes, with that premium subscription—you know the drill). And while we were hoping for some immediate story that captures our attention, what we got instead was a setup episode that was a flashback. But hey, that’s what episode 1 is for, right?

Let’s break it down.

Tawan pins her class pin on Ira’s shirt as a good luck charm before disappearing in Only You EP1.

🎬 The Action? A for Effort, B+ for Execution

We kick off with a literal bang—a fight, with flying fists, kicks, dramatic stunts, and Ling radiating cool, calculated bodyguard energy. And then… boom—she’s in a school uniform?

Let’s be honest: Ling’s energy screams powerful executive or assassin-for-hire. The teen role doesn’t exactly land. It’s giving “undercover agent at prom.” On the flip side, Orm does pull off the schoolgirl role. She’s bubbly, emotive, and brings that youthful sass that works for Ira’s character.

💃 Dancing Queen-ish

One thing we did appreciate? Tawan (Ling) clocking Ira’s (Orm) love for dancing and giving her a gentle push to follow her dream. It was a sweet moment. We live for women uplifting women.Fast forward to Ira’s glow-up? She ate. Serving confident professional dancer realness—with noticeably more highlighter and better hair. Though let’s be honest: the dance routines? Not quite K-pop sharp. We’re waiting to see if that’s intentional… or just the choreography budget showing.

🎒 Plot Points in a Backpack

If you saw the trailer, you’ve seen 50% of this episode. This premiere wasn’t trying to surprise—it was here to serve exposition. Childhood connection? Check. Sudden disappearance? Check. Flash-forward to present day? Also check. Now that the pieces are in place, we’re crossing fingers for some momentum.

Final Thoughts:

Only You EP1 didn’t sweep us off our feet, but it gave us enough of a toe tap to stick around. As the first-ever Thai GL to air in primetime, this series has a lot riding on its shoulders—and we’re hoping it delivers both representation and real storytelling. Just please—don’t water down the sapphic. We’re hopeful. Give us chemistry. Give us tension. Give us intimacy that feels earned.

We're rooting for Tawan and Ira. We’re rooting for Only You. Now give us a reason to stay obsessed.
