What a fantastic start! Episode 1 of Denied Love truly delivered across the board. I was smiling, laughing, and honestly impressed by some of the bold moves that transpired—especially from Khem! She came out of the gate with confidence and cheeky charm, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching her push Rin’s buttons in the most unexpected (and entertaining) ways. It set the tone perfectly for what feels like a rollercoaster of emotions ahead.
From a production standpoint, I was thoroughly impressed. The sets, costumes, jewelry, hair, and makeup all felt thoughtfully executed and really helped bring the story to life. Visually, it’s a treat.
If I had one gentle bit of feedback, it would be a wish for a clearer sense of the timeline. It seems we started at one point in the story, jumped back in time, and are now working our way forward. I am hopeful that upcoming episodes will help fill in those gaps.
And can we talk about the epilogue?! I loved that creative touch. It’s a standout element that gives Denied Love a competitive edge over other GL dramas—it’s fresh and unique. That said, I did find myself a little confused about the timing within the epilogues too. I tried using the wardrobe changes to get my bearings, but they kept shifting throughout the sequence. Still, I love the idea and can’t wait to see how it continues to evolve.
All in all, this series has me completely hooked. A+ so far! I’m seated, emotionally invested, and even renewed my Tencent App VIP status just to make sure I can keep watching the Uncut versions without delay. Bring on Episode 2!
