It’s the dreaded heartbreak episode. The one every #ThaiGL fan learns to fear—when all the cuddles, cuteness, and “homework” come crashing down in a wave of angst. EP9 of Denied Love delivered on that tradition. And while we wish the emotional wreckage had hit in EP7 or EP8 to allow more breathing room for a satisfying finale, we get it. The breakup had to happen. It’s in the book. Still, it hurt.
Let’s unpack the tender moments, painful truths, and that still-missing “I love you” kiss.

🥗 Office Lunch with a Side of Growth
We open on Rin and Khem having lunch in her office, and honestly? Cute, vulnerable, and just a little feisty. It’s clear Rin wants more than just proximity—she wants connection. Her asking about Khem’s therapy and phobias showed she’s finally making space for Khem emotionally. This wasn’t just lunch. It was love—in her own awkward, tightly-wound way.
🍳 Domestic Fluff & the Dread of Foreshadowing
The next morning? Khem cooking in THAT shirt. We just knew the drop was coming, and fast. That shirt alone screamed, “Final happy moment before the storm.”
But the scene gave us everything: playful teasing, spicy innuendos, and one of our favorite things about this series—comedy woven into intimacy. When they tease, when they flirt, when they feed each other breakfast? It’s so human. So couple-y. So them. More of this, always.
🌹 A Garden Rose and a Homework Proposal
Let’s talk table tension. Rin’s micro-jealousy? Classic. But when she realized the flower was for her, her defenses crumbled and the rose offering turned downright romantic.
That sweet gesture quickly turned spicy as Rin tried her not-so-subtle best to initiate some homework. Her tactics? Hilarious. The thirst? Palpable. But once things started to heat up—we were ready.
And yet again, the emotional payoff was cut short. What we needed was an “I want you” kiss. A kiss with hunger, vulnerability, and intent. Instead? Another standard peck. Cute, sure—but not enough. Especially since their homework session gets rudely interrupted by a phone call from Pai.
💥 The Argument We Saw Coming (But Still Weren’t Ready For)
Let’s be honest—Khem’s delivery of the truth? Absolutely brutal...but so necessary. She laid it out plainly: Rin doesn’t love herself enough to choose peace over Pai, and it’s damaging. Khem drew the line, and we love her for it.
Sure, it stung. But it’s about time someone called Rin out with honesty and boundaries. And this moment finally forced Rin to face the consequences of her emotional walls and misplaced priorities.
🐶 Khem Left... and Took Mookhem Too?!
Cue the emotional avalanche: Khem is gone. But not just her. She took Mookhem with her. And we have to say...the fact that Rin was mad about it? Adorable. Painfully relatable. That little stuffed animal being gone really hit. It spoke volumes about how deeply Rin felt the loss—even in the small things.
This is where we get our June Appreciation Break, because wow. She delivered this sequence—almost entirely solo. From denial to devastation, her emotional unraveling was raw, believable, and beautifully done. She didn’t just act the part. She embodied it.
✉️ The Letter That Slapped
Khem’s goodbye note? Short, sharp, and on brand. It didn’t coddle. It didn’t drag. It checked Rin and let her know: you lost me, and it’s your fault. Wasin’s follow-up line—“you won”—was a punch to the gut. But it was the wake-up call Rin needed. The writing here? Tight. Purposeful. Excellent.
🕵️♀️ The Search for Khem Begins
Rin trying to track down her wife was short, but endearing. We loved the little subplot of the co-workers piecing together that these two are in love. Gave us life.
Rin talks to Khem’s circle, trying to make sense of the silence. We were particularly interested to see if Khwanrin would say anything—but by the teaser, it’s clear she knew all along but won’t tell. The suspense is real.
🍷 Spiral Mode: Activated
Drunk. Starving. Stubborn. Rin hit full meltdown mode. Her talk with her friends grounded the moment—she’s truly lost. Still disconnected from her own feelings, still stuck in her head. That is, until…
👨✈️ Dad to the Rescue (Again)
Captain of our ship stepped in with one of the realest lines of the episode: If you don’t love her, let her go. It shattered Rin—and us. But it finally got her to admit what we’ve known for episodes: she’s in love with Khem. Deeply.
And when she begs her father to help her find the woman she loves, it’s not just words—it’s her heart finally laid bare. She knelt. She cried. She pleaded. It was vulnerable. Necessary. Beautiful.
🎬 Final Thoughts
EP9 was heavy, honest, and essential. The acting—especially from June—was stellar. The story hit emotional highs and lows that moved the narrative forward. But we still have a major critique…
We’re nine episodes in, and still no “I love you” kiss. A real one. One that feels like the emotional climax this story deserves. It’s the only missing piece keeping this beautiful series from perfection.
