If you’ve been riding the Dangerous Queen train with us, buckle up — because Episode 8 and the series as a whole had us in a blender of shock, delight, confusion, and a few “why is this happening?” moments. And before we begin: yes, we read the book, and that absolutely shapes our POV. If you’re a fan of the novel, you’ll understand why our eyebrows stayed raised for a full hour.
TL;DR: A for effort. D for execution. Not the worst Thai GL of the year, but… it’s close.
But let’s get into the episode first — then we’ll talk about the series as a whole, because oh boy, we have thoughts.
Episode 8: The Moments That Actually Mattered
The Collar Scene – The Boldest Swing of the Series
Let’s start with the obvious: the scene.
The moment Queen lifts the lid on that black box, our jaw dropped, our hand flew to our mouth, and we fully sat upright yelling “ARE THEY GOING THERE?!” We were alert. We were alive. We were already pre-ordering the cold shower.
Queen gives Bo a chance to step into dominance… and here’s where adaptation shifts hit hard.
Book Bo would’ve snapped that collar on with confidence and owned the moment.
Series Bo? Meek. Hesitant. Unsure. It didn’t elevate the scene the way it should’ve.
But since this series re-arranged their entire dynamic anyway, we let it slide.Until the bell. Why was there a bell? A literal jingle bell? Even our dogs were offended. We cannot stress this enough: why.
But then — THEN — TK drops to her knees. Our soul left our body. Our brain glitched. We ascended directly into sapphic goddess territory. If we were Bo? We know exactly what we’d do. We waited for Nur to grab that leash and guide Queen.
Instead, Queen hits us with “I still might bite my master,” and we flatlined. Fully deceased.
And then Queen’s hands go places. Like… places.Thank you, sapphic goddesses, for the authentic roaming hands and not the usual “cut away after two seconds while hair blocks the kiss” GL treatment.
But the moment that mattered — the emotional apex — is when Bo flips Queen, taking the “above her” position. That’s when the voiceover confirms it: Queen’s trust is real. Her love is real. And Bo finally steps into confidence, taking what she wants from the woman she loves.
Magic. THIS is what the series should’ve delivered week after week.
Bo using the leash to pull Queen upright into exactly the position she wanted? Outstanding. A+ moment. And then… she removes the collar.Sigh.But fine. TV symbolism. Equal partnership. We’ll allow it.
Final verdict on the BDSM: Tasteful, consensual, surprising, and genuinely refreshing to see intimacy diversity in a Thai GL. Kudos to TK and Nur for the trust and authenticity.
The Morning After – Cute, But Let’s Be Real
We loved the “stuff all over the floor,” implied nakedness, and soft smiles.
But Queen said she bites.Where are the bruises? Marks? Hickies? Anything? And why do they both wake up looking like they just finished hair and makeup?
The dialogue was cute. The intimacy? Needed about 20% more screen time.
The Roose – The Plot Hole Olympics Begin
Bo’s mom calls demanding money and Bo immediately walks into the trap.
Girl…Did Queen not pay you specifically so she’d leave you alone?Did you not cry when you realized your mother’s addiction outweighed any love she had for you?How is this surprising?!
You suddenly have $500K ready to hand over. Sure, okay. You see Kem there — again, how is this surprising?!
The only redeeming thing here is Queen’s power suit. TK wore that outfit like she owned the building, the block, the city, and maybe the entire show.
Bo sacrificing herself to snap Kem out of it? Solid writing.Kem’s final moment? Impactful, well-acted.
Bo’s devastation for days afterward? Strange, considering:
her mom sold her
her mom chose gambling repeatedly
her friend literally tried to kill Queen twice
and kidnapped her
Yes, grief exists. But this level? Didn’t fit the narrative logic.
Mother – The Deal Reveal That Fell Flat
We’ve been waiting ALL SERIES for the fallout of Bo’s deal with Queen’s mom.
And then… that scene.Bo kneeling (again?).Still subservient.Still unable to sit on the couch despite Queen asking.
Book Bo would never.
The way the deal is revealed? Odd. Rushed. Emotionally hollow. If we were Queen, we’d want answers immediately. But since this is the last episode, they clearly decided: “Nope, no more drama.”
Missed opportunity. Huge.
Queen + Bo as a Couple – Great Potential, Messy Execution
The novel? We adore it. One of the best sapphic reads of the year. The series? We’re… squinting. Hard.
Camera angles for kisses? Tragic.Hair blocking every intimate moment? Ladies, please tuck it behind your ears — join the cool kids. The one-year time jump? Cute ending, but Bonita showed zero growth. These two should elevate each other, and that didn’t come through.
EP8 Final Grade
Some highs, many lows. Bold choices, shaky execution. We’re grateful they actually went there with BDSM. That alone earns respect. But everything else? Plot holes, weak acting moments, and rough editing.
We genuinely hope to see TK and Nur in another project where their chemistry and talent can shine with proper support.
Series Review: One of the Biggest Disappointments of the Year
We don’t say this lightly:This series had incredible source material, strong actresses, and a bold concept. It should have been one of the year’s biggest wins.
Instead… it lands just above I Am Your Moon in the “oh no” category.
Adaptations don’t need to be 1:1 with the book. We’re fine with changes. But you have to maintain narrative logic.Too many choices simply didn’t add up.
Production, editing, acting direction, pacing, plot structure — every department wobbled.
It was an ambitious first outing for a new production house. We hope they learned A LOT, and that next year, they come back swinging.
