If we sound unhinged, blame the jetlag… or the fact that Dangerous Queen EP7 has us spiraling deeper into “What in the GL multiverse is going on?” territory. We adore Thai GL. We champion it. We celebrate it. But this episode? This was an Olympic-level test of patience, logic, and loyalty.
And listen—we wanted to love this. The novel is iconic. The anticipation was sky-high. The production pulled from a beloved source. Yet somehow the TV adaptation keeps drifting into choices that have us scratching our heads in confusion. At this point, the only thing truly keeping us invested is Tangkwa Phinyanech Aungsuwan, whose facecard remains undefeated. Elite. Elegant. Expensive. She walks on screen and our knees buckle. If she left, we’d be out by the next commercial break.
But let’s focus. EP7 delivered so many “why is this happening?” moments that we had to break them down—both for our sanity and yours.
1. The Sudden Political Plotline… For What?
We’re all for layered storytelling, but why are we here?In theory, Queen stepping into politics is meant to protect Bo from her mother’s meddling. But now that Bo has left… wouldn’t Queen stay at the company she supposedly loved in earlier episodes?
Also—where was her politically powerful stepfather during her big public appearance? Her mother? Anyone? If you’re going to give us politics, at least follow the politics rulebook. Instead, this storyline feels like a loophole to wedge in Kongtup and push Kem into attack mode.
2. Bo’s Housing Crisis: A Plot Device Searching for a Plot
Bo looking for a new place to stay was framed like a major life event—but no one actually tells us where she currently lives.
In the novel, Queen gives Bo her old apartment. Logical. Emotional. Clear. In the series? It’s left hanging in the void. Did we miss something? Or did the writers?
3. Back to the Club… and Back to Confusion
Bo returning to work at the club? Makes sense given her character arc.Bo struggling to serve Queen? Also tracks—we’re told she’s in love, even if the show struggles to actually show that.
But Queen appearing there and acting shocked? Girl, be serious.
Then Queen begs Bo to return to her at the end of the episode. Based on what development? What emotional breadcrumbs did we supposedly follow to get here? Book-Queen is strategic, calculating, and brilliantly intelligent. Series-Queen… bless her heart… has the reasoning skills of a golden retriever in love. We are rooting for her, but EP7 made it difficult.
4. Kongtup’s “Big Reveal”: Why Wait Until EP7?
We finally get insight into Kongtup plan… in Episode 7 of an 8-episode series. At this point, investment has evaporated. We’ve spent six episodes trying to decode the romance; this last-minute villain dump only adds noise.
5. Queen Gets Shot At—Again. And Somehow It Makes Less Sense Than Before
Kem missing the shot? Questionable.Kem not covering his face this time despite going to a crowded space? Illogical.Queen not recognizing him even though she seemed to clock him before he fired? Impossible.
Then there’s Bo magically seeing everything, intervening, but apparently not visible to Queen? Where was she standing—behind a potted plant? And if she saw the gun, why didn’t she call out, warn Queen, do something before the shot fired? We are begging for connective tissue here.
6. Bo Meets Queen’s Mom… and None of It Adds Up
Bo made a promise to stay away from Queen for what reason, we still don’t know.
But when Queen’s mom sees Bo at the hospital, she’s suddenly like, “Sure, go ahead, see her”?Why? You won! You got what you wanted!
If she truly wanted Bo gone, why not tell her Queen’s condition and ask her to leave? The writing here feels like it’s contradicting its own plot motivations.
7. Queen Asks Bo to Come Back (…Again, Why?)
We arrive at the core question of EP7:
Why does Queen want Bo back so badly? What changed? When did we see it? Why is Bo still keeping her promise a secret? How can she say yes now when she was panicking about that promise moments ago?
None of it adds up.
We will give credit where it’s due:Queen faking her arm injury to draw Bo close, grabbing her by the neck, and kissing her? Inject it. That was hot. That was the energy we’ve been waiting for. But can we get a better camera angle next time? Every other GL series is serving cinematic kiss scenes. We deserve to see this one in 4K glory.
Final Thoughts: We’re Struggling, Besties
From pacing to writing to production choices, Episode 7 made it extremely hard to stay emotionally invested. And with only one episode left, the preview gives us zero confidence things will magically click into place.
We even went back to the classics—The Loyal Pin, Affair, the OG hits—to remind ourselves what well-built GL storytelling looks like. Those shows weren’t flawless, but they understood character motivation, chemistry, and narrative flow in ways Dangerous Queen just… doesn’t.
We hate to say it, but what was once one of the most anticipated GLs of the year—thanks to a beloved novel—is shaping up to be one of its biggest disappointments. With so many rich, juicy, beautifully executed Thai GLs out right now, this series just isn’t delivering the value its audience deserved.
And frankly? We’re tired. But Tangkwa, girl, we will always follow you anywhere.
