#Englot continues to prove why they’re one of the most compelling duos in the GL space. Their journey hasn’t exactly been smooth—more roller coaster than straight line—but what makes them so fun to watch is how clearly they’ve grown into their chemistry.
Episode 2 of The Water leans heavily into backstory, giving us deeper insight into both Apo and Lada—and the emotional contrast between them is doing a lot of heavy lifting (in the best way).
Apo’s world? Structured, controlled, and quietly affectionate beneath the surface. Her family teases her for being emotionally reserved, but there’s no question—they support her fully.
Lada’s reality? The opposite. She’s surrounded by people who take from her more than they give. All she really wants is to belong, to feel useful, to be seen.
And naturally, a rumor drops right into the middle of all this tension—because what’s a GL without a little chaos? The result: more fuel, more feelings, and more moments that push these two closer (whether they admit it or not).

WHAT HIT
Hiding Lada — Down Bad Behavior (We Respect It)
Well… damn, Engfa.
We already knew Apo was protective, but hiding Lada around the building? That’s elite-level down bad behavior—and we’re absolutely here for it.
What makes this scene land is the tension underneath the humor. Apo can’t fully explain why she’s acting like this, especially when her own family is asking questions. Meanwhile, Lada? She’s poking every single button.
The banter is sharp. The chemistry is effortless. This is where #Englot shines.
The Dad — Unexpected MVP
Apo’s dad casually shipping them based on a rumor? Iconic.
Not only is it hilarious, it’s refreshing. A supportive father figure in a GL storyline still feels rare—and he delivers.
Showing up at the hotel, inviting Lada to lunch in front of the staff, and unknowingly pouring gasoline on the rumor? Incredible.
And yet, he’s so genuine and excited that Lada can barely get a word in. The whole exchange is chaotic in the best way.
Side note: His comment about Wadee and Nus’s usual banter was a subtle but effective world-building moment. Small line, big payoff.
The Chef Scene — Growth on Full Display
This is where you really see how far #Englot has come.
Lada’s excitement is written all over her face—meeting the chef, trying the food, completely ignoring Apo’s “be professional” energy. Meanwhile, Apo stays composed, controlled, and very aware of appearances.
They are opposites. And it works.
The scene leans heavily on facial expressions, and both actors deliver. It’s not overdone, not forced—just clean, intentional acting that elevates what could’ve been a simple moment.
“I Won’t Fall for Her” — Famous Last Words
Anytime a character confidently declares they won’t fall into their own trap… they absolutely will.
And Lada? She’s already halfway there.
Her conversation with her friend is telling. She goes in looking to spill tea, but instead gets clocked immediately—called out for possibly liking Apo and warned about it.
The denial? Strong. Impressive, even.
But let’s be honest—you’re boarding that love train, Lada. You just don’t know it yet.
WHAT MISSED
Pacing — A Necessary Slowdown That Still Felt… Slow
This episode had a job to do: build context, deepen character backgrounds, and set up what’s coming next.
Mission accomplished—but at a cost.
After a strong Episode 1, this one drags slightly. Not enough to lose interest, but enough to notice.
The potential here is too high to stay in a slower gear for long, so Episode 3 needs to pick that momentum back up.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Even with pacing issues, Episode 2 is still a solid follow-up.
It trades speed for substance—and while that doesn’t always make for the most exciting watch, it does make the story stronger.
#Englot continues to hold their place as GL icons, and their chemistry remains the anchor of the series.
We’re seated. And we’re watching closely.
