Only You EP8 – Romance, Drama, and Daddy Issues (Literally)

Okay, now this is what we call prime-time sapphic drama. Only You EP8 had it all—romance, action, family drama, and just enough sweet fluff to send us into a sugar coma. This episode raised the stakes, had us on the edge of our seats, and reminded us why #LingOrm are one of the hottest GL pairings on TV right now.

Let’s break down the rollercoaster ride that was Episode 8.

Tawan smiles at Aira as they lean in for a kiss during their emotional reunion, after Aira sneaks out to see Tawan at work.

Caught or Not?

We start with high tension: will Aira’s Dad catch Tawan lurking on the balcony? For a second, it looks like curtains for our favorite sapphic bodyguard, but a perfectly timed phone call saves the day. Dad leaves, Tawan slips in, and boom—we get some soft PG-rated girlfriend moments. Cute, sweet, wholesome… and just enough to make us swoon.

Time to Work

The drama shifts gears when the record label comes calling. And honestly, we don’t blame them. Aira is the golden goose—successful, adored, profitable. Dad negotiates her return under very specific conditions, making it clear he’s in control. It’s a reminder that in this series, career and family are just as tangled as the romance.

Hit Man on the Loose

Meanwhile, Tawan’s shady step-brother is plotting with a hired gun aimed at Aira’s Dad. Wow! We did not see that coming. Dad survives (because of course he does), and Tawan immediately ups security, correctly predicting this won’t be the last attempt. Bodyguard brain on high alert, sapphic heart still distracted.

Daddy Dearest Walks In

Back to romance—and the chaos that follows it. Tawan and Aira are snuggled up when Dad walks in, and he loses it. He tries to tear them apart, but Aira’s bodyguards (loyal to Tawan) refuse to help him. Instead, he resorts to emotional blackmail, threatening Aira with the loss of her career, freedom, and reputation if she doesn’t obey.

Here’s where we got frustrated: why would a grown, successful woman like Aira not just escape to her own condo and live her life? We get the cultural dynamics, but Dad canceling his own daughter over her girlfriend felt unhinged. Sir, work on your own trauma instead of weaponizing it against your kid. Therapy, not tyranny.

Surprise Reconciliation

Thankfully, the drama softens when we get to see Tawan heading back downstairs to her crew—only to find them gossiping with Aira herself. Cue squeals. The reconciliation hug? Adorable. The crew’s fangirling? Relatable. And Aira leaping into Tawan’s arms? Pure serotonin. The cherry on top was Tawan promising to whisk Aira away for a few days (though, sigh, with the caveat she’ll return her to Dad soon).

Bedroom Banter & Training Montage

Tawan shows Aira her room for the first time, and the banter is everything—playful, sweet, sapphic gold. But romance isn’t the only thing on the agenda. Tawan takes on a new role as coach, putting Aira through gun training and self-defense lessons. Practical, empowering, and honestly, hot. We love a girlfriend who wants her partner to protect herself as much as she’s being protected.

Riverside Retreat & Candy-Coated Love

After the training montage, we get a well-earned breather. Tawan spirits Aira away to her riverside oasis. Between updates from her team and playful distractions with her bae, Tawan balances work and romance. Their sweetness here was next-level—it felt like Willy Wonka opened a sapphic candy factory.

Amusement Park Adventure

And then—date time! Disguised with sunglasses, a hat, and a mask, Aira joins Tawan for a fun day at the amusement park. It’s cheesy, yes, but it’s also adorable. Watching them giggle and play games gave us so much fluff we practically needed an insulin shot.

Tawan’s Backstory Revealed

Finally, the emotional gut-punch. We learn more about Tawan’s tragic family history, including her awful step-brother. It’s heavy stuff, but it makes her resilience and strength shine even brighter. The best part? Aira doesn’t flinch. She doesn’t care where Tawan came from—she only cares about who she is now. That’s love, folks.

Breakfast in Bed, But Make It Dramatic

The morning after gives us more sweetness (breakfast in bed, anyone?), until reality comes knocking. Tawan gets a call from her team—turns out someone followed them at the amusement park, snapping pics and videos of their too-cozy date. Uh oh. Cue dramatic cut-to-black. Next week’s fallout is going to be messy.

Final Thoughts

Only You EP8 gave us everything we expect from a prime-time sapphic drama: action, emotional stakes, and romance that radiates off the screen.

Bring on Episode 9—we can’t wait to see how these two navigate Dad’s interference, public scandal, and, hopefully, more sweet moments to balance the chaos.
