Enemies with Benefits EP6 Review: When Feelings Get Real

This Thai GL finally delivers the chemistry, jealousy, emotional honesty, and intimacy we’ve been waiting for — even if a few production hiccups nearly pulled us out of the moment.

Quick Take

After several episodes of build-up, Enemies with Benefits EP6 finally gives us what a “friends with benefits” story desperately needed: actual passion, emotional vulnerability, and chemistry that feels earned.

Because let’s be honest — if Lal is out here telling her bestie this arrangement started with passion, we needed to see the passion.

And finally? We did.

Between the chaotic company outing, jealousy bubbling beneath the surface, emotional confessions at the beach, and the strongest intimate scene the series has delivered so far, EP6 feels like the moment this story finally clicks. Was it flawless? No. But was it fun? Absolutely.

THE MOMENT

Honesty at the Beach — Finally

After episodes of misunderstandings and bottled-up feelings, Lal and Wine finally start being honest with each other. We’re thrilled. Frankly, it was overdue.

Wine recognizing her feelings, owning her mistakes, and openly communicating with Lal was refreshing. Even better was Lal’s response. She listens — really listens. No interrupting, no defensiveness, no drifting attention. Just genuine investment in what Wine is saying.

That alone made the scene land emotionally.

And yes, the subtle PDA? Adorable.

More importantly, this moment feels like a real turning point for the relationship. These two clearly care about one another but have been struggling to understand what those feelings actually mean. The beach setting gave the scene room to breathe, and what followed delivered the emotional payoff we’d been waiting for.

Because the intimacy finally felt like more than attraction.

There was warmth. Care. Emotional connection.

The kisses felt more natural, the pacing slowed down, and the scene gave us enough vulnerability to make it feel earned rather than performative. Tasteful, emotionally grounded, and — dare we say — finally believable.

And the morning-after energy? Cute. Happy. Soft.

We’ll take it.

But what really sold us was Lal finally chasing after Wine and admitting what we all already knew: she likes her and wants something real.

Yes, girl. Stand up and own your feelings.

Wine’s reaction feels more like fear — which makes complete sense if you know her emotional history. That hesitation is going to force some difficult decisions moving forward, and depending on how closely GMMTV follows the source material, things could get very interesting.

We’re curious. Slightly nervous. But seated.

WHAT WORKED

The Company Outing Chaos

The company outing was pure chaos in the best possible way.

At this point, we’re convinced Medsai is clocking what’s happening between Lal and Wine — and we may even be sensing a little jealousy creeping in. We’re intrigued.

And when JingJing pulled her hair up and ditched the glasses?

Look. We had the same reaction as Jan.

10/10 - No notes.

We also loved seeing how much harder it’s becoming for Lal and Wine to hide their chemistry. Numnim already shipping them off one accidental back-hug moment? Honestly, fair.

But the standout moment came during the water challenge after their argument.

Jan looked good.

Confidence? Through the roof. Smart strategy? Even better. The reactions from everyone around them only sold the moment more.

Book fans know Lal’s physique is part of the character lore — the woman is known for killer abs and a banging body. So yes, we appreciated the show finally treating the moment accordingly.

And Medsai offering Lal a towel while Wine watches?

A little jealousy never hurt anybody.

As Beyoncé once taught us: if you like it, put a ring on it.

Surprise Bestie Energy

The unexpected bestie pop-in was comedy gold.

Walking in to find Wine at Lal’s house? Immediate chaos.

The awkward oversharing, accidental roasting, and collective embarrassment had us laughing, but what worked best was how naturally the scene pushed Lal toward emotional honesty.

Sometimes it takes a friend saying the obvious thing out loud for everything to finally click.

Messy? Yes.

Effective? Also yes.

WHAT MISSESD

Tangkwa and Proud Felt Rushed

We’re struggling a bit with the Tangkwa-Proud hookup.

The chemistry potential is there, but the pacing felt rushed, making the moment land awkwardly rather than emotionally satisfying.

There’s also a larger consent conversation hovering over the scene given Tangkwa’s level of intoxication. Depending on how impaired she actually was, the framing becomes murky — and the show doesn’t fully address it.

For us, it just didn’t quite work.

Audio Issues Pulled Us Out

For a production of this quality, the sound inconsistencies stood out.

The beach scene occasionally lost dialogue beneath the wind and waves, forcing us to turn up the volume. Then the following morning-after scene sounded noticeably hollow, sending us right back to the volume button.

Minor issue? Sure.

Noticeable enough to pull us out of key moments? Unfortunately, yes.

Bold Take

EP6 finally gives Enemies with Benefits the emotional and physical chemistry the story has been missing. If this is the version of Lal and Wine we’re getting moving forward, we’re officially seated.

Final Verdict

While EP6 still had a few rough edges, this was easily one of Enemies with Benefits’ strongest episodes to date. The chemistry finally feels natural, the emotional beats are landing, and Lal and Wine’s relationship finally feels like it’s moving toward something real.

More importantly, next week looks poised to finally unpack a major piece of Wine’s past — the very thing that may explain why she’s so guarded, rigid, and determined to play by the rules. Honestly? It’s the storyline we’ve been waiting for and, at times, worried GMMTV may have replaced with some of the series’ other changes. But count us officially seated to see how this unfolds — especially now that Lal is fully invested in pursuing a real relationship with Wine.

And yes, we may or may not have already rewatched this episode more than once.
