Gen's first official conversation with Irene quietly establishes one of Irene's defining character traits. Gen arrives with a long list of questions, and Irene answers them—but only the ones she's asked. She never volunteers extra information, never pushes the conversation forward and rarely reveals more than Gen is ready to hear.


That changes only when Gen becomes frustrated and tries to leave. Irene stops her and, for the first time, offers information Gen didn't ask for: the company is preparing to recall AI, and she'll help keep her safe. At first, it feels like a small moment designed to showcase Irene's kindness and brilliance.


Viewed alongside the rest of the series, though, it feels much more intentional. Gen experiences the world through art, while Irene understands it through science.
