Let’s get this out of the way—we’re bitter. Just bitter. LingLing Kwong and Orm are top-tier actresses. They know how to serve emotions, chemistry, angst, and more. They’re the kind of talent you put on a pedestal. But if there’s one thing that consistently kills us every time they share the screen together, it’s their intimacy scenes.
And no, we’re not asking for anything raunchy—just for kisses that match the narrative. These two characters have been pining for one another for years. Years, folks. Finally, they confess their feelings in a heated rooftop moment… and we get a peck. A peck?! We were strapped into the emotional rollercoaster, white-knuckled and cheering for the big payoff, only for the ride to slam the brakes.
Yes, we know—different channel, different intimacy style, and this duo tends to keep things “light.” But when the story builds for years toward this moment, fans deserve the fireworks. Instead, we got a sparkler that fizzled before it was even lit.

A Lack of Commitment & Memory Lane
We pick up where EP4 left off—Tawan dodging Aira’s direct question about whether she’d want her without the bodyguard title. Aira? Devastated, crying in her massive walk-in closet. Tawan? Sitting on the steps, quietly shedding a tear or two. Both women are lost in flashbacks of their shared past, and we’re fully invested. The emotions? Off the charts. The tissue box? Empty.
Cooking Work With a Side of Cold Shoulder
Aira shifts gears—if Tawan won’t confess, she’ll treat her like any other bodyguard: invisible. It’s ice-cold, but we don’t blame her. Tawan notices. Tawan cares. And Pete swooping in to cozy up to Aira? Oh, it drives Tawan nuts.
The comedic timing from the duo feeding Tawan info about Pete? Perfection. We laughed, we rewound, we laughed again.
The Concert & the Snub
At the concert, Tawan is laser-focused on Aira. She offers her arm to help her off stage—sweet, right? Aira ignores her and calls Nana instead. Nana’s reaction? Chef’s kiss comedy gold.
Pete & Aira Push Tawan Over the Edge
Back in the practice studio, Pete is getting way too close for comfort while dancing with Aira, and Tawan is not okay. Her fists are clenched so tight you can feel the tension through the screen. We’re clenching ours too, right along with her. When Tawan finally calls for a break and heads to the rooftop, it’s to cool down—or so she tells herself—but those tears give her away.
She comes back inside only to overhear that Pete and Aira have asked for “alone time.” Excuse us? We can smell that setup a mile away. Tawan barges right in just as Aira leans in for what would’ve been the kiss heard ‘round the fandom. The look on her face? Priceless. The acting? A+. The angst? Off the charts.
What follows is the rooftop confrontation we’ve been dying for all season. Tawan tries to stay in her “professional” bodyguard lane, but her jealousy is practically screaming. She questions Aira, not hiding her hurt, and you can see the tears starting to pool in her eyes. Then Aira delivers the gut punch—telling Tawan that at least Pete has never broken her heart. Ouch.
And then—oh, then—Aira unloads years of pent-up love and frustration, confessing that she’s been in love with Tawan since high school and had planned to tell her right after the dance competition. Every word is a knife to the heart, but in the best, most deliciously dramatic way possible. Orm delivers this rant like she’s pulling it from the depths of her soul. We were hanging on every word, utterly invested. This was top-tier sapphic drama.
The Kiss… And the Letdown
And here it is—the moment we’ve been waiting for since episode one. Tawan pulls her in, and shuts her up with a kiss. Aira’s eyes go wide—shock, surprise, maybe disbelief. We’re still in it. We understand the hesitation.
But then… the kiss lasts ten seconds and the gap between them is so wide you could fit Nana in there with a tray of drinks. Aira finally starts to lean in, eyes closed, ready to kiss back—and Tawan pulls away. They go in again, and sure, we’ll give bonus points for the cheek caress, but the want, the desire? MIA.
Still, we let it slide in the moment because the emotional confessions are strong. Tawan drops the line of the episode—“Is it too late for me to say I love you?”—and admits she’s been in love with Aira all along. We’re swooning. The flashbacks from Tawan’s perspective are adorable, the back-and-forth banter is pure fluff heaven, and the whole exchange makes you root for them even harder.
And then… we get the condo scene. Eight years of longing, finally alone, no danger in sight—and they kiss like strangers at a middle school dance. Lips barely touching, pulling back, no urgency, no heat. Earlier, Tawan teased she could “give her more than that,” and we were ready for it… but the spark never lit. It’s the emotional equivalent of dangling cake in front of us and then taking it away.
As fans, we felt robbed. We had been fully seated, emotionally invested, ready to stand up and cheer for a payoff eight years in the making. Instead, we got… “classy” restraint that didn’t fit the story’s own build-up.
Final Thoughts
Only You continues to impress with mature storytelling, rich character arcs, and undeniable acting talent. Ling and Orm have chemistry. They have the angst. They have the emotional beats down to an art form. Which is why the lack of passionate follow-through in the intimacy is so baffling.
We’re still rooting for them. Still loving the series. But EP5 left us with one big question—where are the fireworks?
Were you as bitter as we were? Let’s hear it.
