My Safe Zone EP4: The Intimacy, the Drama, and the Pie Problem

When #LenaMiu teased that EP4 was bringing heat, they did not lie. There was sizzle, there was steam, and it wasn’t only from that shower scene. We’re thoroughly enjoying this series and the emotional depth it’s chasing. However… as the Thai GL landscape gets richer and more competitive, we’re finding ourselves critiquing with a sharper eye. And in this episode, two key moments could’ve burned the house down — but didn’t. We’ll explain when we get there.

Alin gently pulls Jane toward her while explaining the “good” in Pie’s offer, as Jane side-eyes her with clear suspicion over anything that comes from Pie.

A Flashback That Sets the Tone (Literally and Emotionally)

We open with another flashback to Alin and Jane’s youth: Lin sitting heartbroken in the rain, Jane arriving with an umbrella like a tiny knight in soggy armor. Symbolic, soft, sentimental — and setting up everything that comes next.

Cut to the present: Jane crying behind her bedroom door while Lin sits outside, apologizing through the wood like a lovesick golden retriever. Points for effort, but Jane clearly needs space — and Lin recognizes this. Love to see it.

The Real Clip: Pie… Doing the Absolute Most

From Jane's POV, it sure looked like Lin was making a move on Pie. But nope — Pie saw Jane walking up and weaponized a spilled cup of water to get Lin close. She even whispered instructions on where to pat dry. Coaching! Ma’am!

Lin… we love you, but what was this rookie mistake? There’s “professional kindness,” and then there’s “you’re about to be single…again.”

As soon as Pie realized Jane was upset? She backed off like a guilty toddler and went to drink alone, hoping she’d blown up their relationship. Messy. Deliciously messy.

Oh — and Pie sleeping her way through potential investors? Gender-blind and boundary-free? Not surprising. She wakes up to a note saying, “Good luck but… no.” Girl. The math isn’t mathing.

Revelations, Reckonings, and the Ex Who Spills the Tea

Lin attempts to reconcile with Jane the next morning but the gate is locked. She goes to get a peace offering -- coffee. Enter: the ex from high school.

She tells Lin the truth: Jane protected her back then. Jane saw her cheating with someone else and convinced the girl to break up with Lin without ever revealing why. That’s loyalty and just a pinch of gatekeep energy. Bestie of the decade behavior.

Lin returns to Jane with coffee, only to be ignored. At work, Jane ends up cutting her finger (girl was stressed), and Lin swoops in to help despite Jane’s protests. Jane asks for explanations, Lin gives them, Jane calls her out, and Lin immediately realizes she was wrong.

Jane needs time. Lin accepts that. But she also draws a boundary: she won’t be blamed for something she didn’t do. Healthy communication? In a Thai GL? We love to see it.

The Stooges Give Advice (Eventually)

Jane consults her two sidekick chefs who, after ranting about their own love-life disasters, eventually land on solid advice: “If you trust Alin, then believe her.” Simple. True.

Jane realizes she misstepped… and runs to find Lin, only she can’t. Lin returns in the evening with a massive bouquet. Cue soft reconciliation. Their dialogue here? Chef’s kiss. Alin puts Jane first but Jane refuses to make her choose between love and a career. Communication? Mutual respect? Emotional maturity in a GL? Look at them go.

INTIMACY #1: The Table Scene That Almost Gave Iconic

This is where the fans sat up straight.

Lin lifts Jane onto the edge of the table — and suddenly we’re all wondering if we’re getting an #AffairTheSeries style “LMSY table moment.” The chemistry is there. The setup is there. The tension is there.

But the payoff?More tender than passionate. Short. And when the camera pans out, Jane's left hand should’ve been pulling Lin in. One missing detail = one shattered illusion. Instead of being in the moment, we were reminded, “Oh right — actors.” Boooo.

This couple has FIRE chemistry. They deserved a touch more intensity here. Just enough to let the audience feel it.

INTIMACY #2: The Walk-Home Makeout & Bedroom Fade-Out

Them stumbling home while making out? Perfect. Urgent. Raw. Post-fight makeup energy? Elite.

Wall pin. Neck touch. Tender kisses. Clothes coming off. The sapphic gods smiled.

But again… another abrupt pull-out to a blurry wide shot. We’re not asking for Cinemax. We’re asking for clarity and storytelling continuity. With GL competition fierce, a mere 15–30 seconds more could’ve given this scene the impact it needed.

Still loved it — but wished for just a little more.

Pillow Talk That Hits the Heart

Post-intimacy, Lin finally opens up and shares that she ran into Wan earlier that day. That’s when Jane confesses the truth — she was thrilled when Wan broke up with Lin back then, even though she had to pretend to be the supportive best friend. Heartbreaking, adorable, and so them.

Lin asks why Jane never spoke up about her feelings, and Jane admits she was too afraid. Lin then gently encourages her to always share what she feels from now on — no matter what. She wants honesty, openness, and vulnerability from here forward.

Pie Returns (Ugh) and Jane Stands Firm (Yesss)

The next morning, Pie’s at Jane’s gate asking her to cater Aira’s photoshoot. Jane shuts her down cold, with snark, confidence, and zero patience. We screamed.

Pie hits Lin with flirting on her way out — Lin could be faster on the “stop it,” but she does tell Pie she’ll ask Jane again, only for Jane to call out exactly what’s happening. Lin backs Jane immediately. Loved it.

Then we learn the truth: Pie is broke. Financially sinking. Desperate for investors. Someone bring this woman a budget spreadsheet and a moral compass.

Family Dynamics, Ex-Fiancé Trauma, and a Soft Shower Setup

Back at Jane’s restaurant, Lin opens up when Jane asks why her mom seems to like Kate so much. Lin explains that her ex-fiancé didn’t win her mother over through acceptance, but through expensive gifts — to the point where her mom practically favored Kate over her own daughter. Brutal. But Lin’s clarity here? “I’m not going back. I’d rather have love and earn my own money than take the comfortable road and lose love.” QUEEN.

Later, at Jane’s house, Lin is curled up on the couch in her PJs editing photos when Jane walks over and casually mentions she’s heading to take a shower. Jane teases her about joining, and after a moment of hesitation, Lin leans in with a soft, sexy whisper that seals the deal — and suddenly they’re stepping into the shower together. We were absolutely fanning ourselves.

INTIMACY #3: The Shower Scene With One Missing Element

This scene had potential to go down in GL history. Fans were ready for a Shelly & Pundao competition.

We got:

  • perfect kissing

  • roaming hands

  • soft touches

  • intertwined fingers

  • LIN. ON. HER. KNEES.

But then… Jane’s reaction. Or rather, lack thereof. Miu, queen, love you, but this was the moment to give us something. An arched back, a breathy gasp, a moan, a soft whimper — anything.

Instead: neutral face. And then… cut.

The potential internet-breaking moment slipped through our fingers.

The Suspense Cliffhanger

After another snuggle scene, Lin checks her email and looks worried. Troubling. We need answers.

At the photoshoot, Pie sees Lin arriving — with a woman. Her face? Existential crisis. Love that for her.

Pie pulls Lin aside to offer her a partnership in her new online magazine, clearly trying to trap Lin into her sinking ship. Jane is suspicious (as she should be), and Lin is thinking about it (girl please no), but before they can talk it out—

A truck barrels toward Jane.Lin yells.

Cut to black.

RUDE.

Final Thoughts: Great Episode, but We Want Fireworks

Overall, EP4 is strong. The story is engaging. #LenaMiu’s chemistry? Electric. But where we expected fireworks, we got well-timed sparklers. Fun, but not explosive.

Next week promises chaos, heat, and the #LingOrm guest appearance. We’re buckled in.

Please, My Safe Zone… give us the fireworks we know you’re capable of.
